Jeremy, before and after composite filling
Composite (tooth-colored) Fillings are becoming the standard of care to restore teeth diseased with tooth decay. They look and feel like natural teeth. This type of procedure is fairly simple and a patient will usually receive anesthetic and occasionally a dental rubber dam is used to help keep the area we are working in dry, which speeds up the process. A small dental drill or handpiece is used by the Dentist to remove any of the tooth decay and then layers of composite material are placed and hardened with a specialized curing light. The tooth is then shaped and smoothed and evened out to match your bite.
