We are a family practice and really enjoy seeing children and teens, as well as adults.
The early years:
We start seeing children as young as age 2. Their initial check-up appointment starts with a fun "ride in the chair". This gives them an opportunity to get used to our office and the tools we use such as "Mr. Thirsty" (the suction tool) and how we "count teeth" (the oral evaluation). Dr. Bond can determine if there are any issues for parents to address to help prevent problems like dental disease or tooth decay in their child.
Check-up appointments:
We can generally start cleaning and polishing children's teeth around age 4-6, depending on how comfortable they are with us. Your child's initial appointment will usually consist of a comprehensive evaluation, necessary x-rays, a teeth cleaning and a fluoride treatment. Teens benefit from regular check-ups, as WE encourage them to brush and floss regularly to avoid problems like bad breath and tooth decay.
Prevention:
We may recommend sealants to help prevent tooth decay. Early detection of cavities is important to help prevent your child from needing extensive dental treatment, as they get older.
Orthodontic care:
We also evaluate your child for braces and may refer to an Orthodontist if it is needed. If your child wears braces, it is even more important that they have regular dental check-ups and teeth cleanings. We also recommend a thorough evaluation after they have their braces removed to check for tooth decay.
We make it fun!
We have a team that really enjoys working with children and teens. We have toy surprises for "good kids" after their visit is complete. We also have "Certificates of Bravery" and a "No Cavity Club". We have movies they can watch during longer visits and also offer other options for those children that are anxious or have special needs for their dental appointment.

“I really enjoy working in the dental field, and love working with kids. Here at Dr. Bond’s office, I have the opportunity to see many of our younger patients and I try to make their visit as fun as possible. I believe that wonderful dental experiences as a child, lead to more comfortable visits when you’re an adult.”
